Ace aero air hog jet

Air Hogs is a line of toy airplanes, helicopters, rockets, and cars manufactured and owned by the Spin Master company of Toronto, Ontario , Canada . They are radio controlled, free-flying, and air-powered aircraft. Several of these, especially the remote-controlled (R/C) ones, are designed to be easily flown without any need for assembly.

Air Hogs was created in 1996 when Spin Master was approached by British inventors John Dixon and Peter Manning, whose prototype of a compressed air powered toy airplane had been rejected by everyone they had shown it to. Excited by the plane’s potential, Spin Master licensed the technology and spent two years and half a million dollars perfecting the toy.

The Air Hogs Sky Shark debuted first in spring 1998 and was an immediate hit, fuelled by coverage on The Today Show and Live with Regis and Kathy Lee , as well as write-ups in Time and Popular Science .

POur great experiment, trying to make do the stock jetting components in the Honda Shadow ACE 750, has ended. Inside the two Keihin carburetors you’ll find a Cobra-branded (and Dynojet-developed) jet kit. Each kit contains new adjustable-height needles, a small assortment of main jets, two drill bits and instructions. The drill bits are to remove the cover on the pilot mixture screw (already done on our bike) and to increase the diameter of the slide lift hole; this orifice helps determine how quickly the vacuum-operated slide moves in response to changes in throttle position and engine load.

After wrestling the carbs out of the chassis—not the easiest task with the ACE—we began the installation process. The main jets are simple. Remove the old ones, screw in the new ones. Cobra provides four main jets with this kit, all different sizes—DJ098, DJ102, DJ106 and DJ110. The instructions don’t specifically say what to do when retaining a stock exhaust, so we went with a hunch and installed the smallest two mains. The instructions also say to stagger the jets, with the smaller jet (lower numerically) in the front cylinder.

According to the directions, you’re also supposed to install the needle with the clip in the #2 position, one down from the uppermost slot. The higher the clip the lower the needle rides, which makes the part-throttle leaner. More on this in a moment.
